• Manage special projects as assigned from conception to completion with little oversight.

• Perform all required erosion and sediment, stormwater management and pollution prevention inspections for applicable construction projects.

• Interpret complex plans and drawings.

• Conduct preconstruction meetings and inspect construction sites for compliance with approved plans.

• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control and soil disturbance.

The graduate assistant will work on the Northeastern RSGCN stonefly assessment project and conduct MS thesis research with the Lake Champlain Research Institute at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. This position covers a stipend for academic year and summer plus in state NY tuition waiver. The research will focus on the stonefly systematics and conservation in the Northeastern US. Duties for this position will include some field work, sorting, data entry, identification and preparation of specimens for morphological and/or genetic study.

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in aquatic ecology. This position is part of University of Wyoming NSF EPSCoR grant titled “WyACT: Wyoming Anticipating Climate Transitions”. The successful applicant will use ecological and physical models to predict responses to climate change induced reductions in water availability. The postdoc will work to advance our understanding of how climate change affects aquatic ecosystems. The postdoc will develop their own research activities related to lake modeling, food webs, or flow-ecology relationships in the Upper Snake River, Green River, or Wind River watersheds, Wyoming.
